As of the 'latest unofficial count,' it was Paolo Contis who was quoted to have dropped the clichè back in 2021 — at the height of rumors between him and Yen Santos who both starred in 'A Far Away Land.'

It wasn't until two years later when Paolo made a public confession that their honest-to-goodness friendship had blossomed into romance.
