Newsome endgame heroics seal win as Meralco regains series lead vs SMB

MANILA, Philippines — Meralco recovered from deflating Game 2 loss by gutting out a 93-89 win over San Miguel Beer to regain the PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven title series lead, 2-1 on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Veteran wingman Chris Newsome fired the go-ahead triple with 34.1 seconds to go that all but sealed the Bolts' vengeful win.
