GM Torre to grace opening of chess tournament in Batangas

Santo Tomas City, Batangas - Asia's first chess grandmaster and hall-of-famer Eugene Torre has been invited as guest of honor during the opening ceremony of the Rotary International District (RID) 3820 open rapid chess tournament on Saturday, June 8, here at SM City.

RID 3820 district governor William Pastor Delloro Jr. said the tournament for a cause aims is to promote the game of chess, especially among the youth while facilitating the development of the talented enthusiasts' skills and confidence.
