Concio eyes title in Rotary International District 3820 chess tourney

International Master Michael Concio Jr. of Dasmarinas City will spearhead a strong cast of participants in the Rotary International District 3820 open rapid chess tournament on June 8 at SM City in Santo Tomas, Batangas.

Concio, one of the top woodpushers of the star-studded Dasmarinas Chess Academy playing under the guidance of mayor Jenny Barzaga and national coach FIDE Master Roel Abelgas, looms as the player to beat in the seven-round Swiss system, FIDE-rated tournament, owing to his recent achievements.
