THE Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) honored Vice Adm. Eduardo Ma Santos, president of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), with a Timonel Award during its 50th anniversary celebration last June 1 in Okada, Manila.

The Timonel Award Program for Outstanding Maritime Entities and Individuals was launched by Marina in 2016 to honor stakeholders' outstanding and exemplary achievements and remarkable contributions to the maritime industry that provided a major impact of national, regional and international significance.
