TWO women in the life of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. should be looked into when it comes to China. The mother, Imelda Marcos, was instrumental in opening diplomatic relations with China on June 9, 1975. The wife, Liza Araneta-Marcos, did business with China through the China-Philippines United Enterprises Inc. (CPUE). The head of CPUE is a certain Michael Ma, who was allegedly appointed to China as special envoy, while the brother of the first lady, Martin Araneta, is one of the executive officers of CPUE.

Without a job from 2016-2022, then former senator Marcos was apparently the responsibility of his wife, who had to make sure that there was money for their kids' education and needs. As founder of the law office MOST, she was also the power behind CPUE. It existed jointly with the law office, which later ended up as Marcos & Associates before 2022. Per online sources, CPUE appears to have started in the United States and is now operating in the country through the law office address of Atty. Marcos. CPUE was doing business for Chinese interests in the country. If you want to enter the Philippines, CPUE is the way.
