Tens of thousands of SKoreans celebrate Pride

SEOUL — Tens of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) South Koreans and their supporters were expected to gather in central Seoul for annual Pride celebrations on Saturday, despite the event's traditional venue being banned by authorities for the second consecutive year.

Same-sex marriage remains unrecognized in the East Asian country, and activists have long emphasized the need for legislation outlawing discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
