ON Dec. 7, 2023, the new Italy Visa Application Center, located at One Campus Place in McKinley Hill, Taguig, was officially inaugurated by Marco Clemente, Ambassador of Italy to the Philippines; and Kaushik Ghosh, head of Australasia at VFS Global, in the presence of representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic corps.

The center was responsible for handling front-end administrative tasks, which would include collection of visa application forms, verification of required documentation and enrollment of biometrics. Decision-making on the granting or refusal of a visa would be the sole prerogative of the Embassy within the Schengen coordination system.
