UN sights triumphs, challenges for LGBTQI+ groups

A UNITED Nations official said that this year's observance of Pride Month was a recognition of the strides made toward greater acceptance and protection of the LGBTQI+ community.

LGBTQI+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning. The 'plus' sign represents other self-identifications under the umbrella of sexuality and/or gender.
