SEN. Loren Legarda welcomed the signing into law of Republic Act 11995, or the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (Pencas) Act, calling it a significant step in integrating environmental sustainability into the country's economic framework.

"It is a data-driven approach that will inform policymaking, allocate resources efficiently, raise public awareness, and align with global sustainability goals, solidifying the importance of preserving these invaluable natural assets for economic and environmental well-being," said Legarda, the legislation's primary author and sponsor.
