Aghon intensifies; rains batter Luzon

SIGNAL No. 3 was raised over the eastern section of Quezon province including the Polillo Islands as Aghon intensified into a severe tropical storm, the state-run weather agency said on Sunday.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed all pertinent government agencies to be on a round-the-clock watch as heavy rains continued to batter many parts of the country.
