MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Aghon is not expected to dump rain although it maintained its strength while crossing the Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

Estimated 100 kilometers east-southeast of Casiguran, Aurora, Aghon is moving northeastward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph, Pagasa said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
