MANILA, Philippines — Horror film "Mallari" won the most awards with seven trophies, including Best Actor for Piolo Pascual, at the 72nd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (Famas) awarding ceremony held on Sunday at the Manila Hotel.
"Mallari" is a 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival that talks about the horrific story of Fr. Severino Mallari, a 19th century priest and his descent into madness. It recounts Mallari's life where he reportedly murdered 57 people to aid his ailing mother.
