A NEXT Generation 911 system (NG911) used in the United States has been installed in Morong, a second-class town in Rizal, making the municipality the first local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines and the first in Southeast Asia to have a world-class, state-of-the-art emergency response center in place.

Emergency 911 National Office executive director Francis Fajardo and DILG External, Legal and Legislative Affairs Undersecretary Juan Victor Llamas activated Morong's emergency 911 (E911) hotline number at the inauguration of Morong's E911 local command center in Sitio Paglabas, Barangay San Pedro on May 6.
