PH missing the active transport opportunity

ACTIVE transport, or active mobility as it is sometimes described, is the catch-all term for transportation that does not require motorized vehicles, primarily walking and bicycling. The subject of active transport was one key area highlighted in the recent Asia and the Pacific Transport Forum 2024, hosted at the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) from May 14 to 17. Unfortunately, the biggest takeaway from this event as it concerns the Philippines is just how far behind its peers the country is, not only in actual development of active transport but in understanding its broad benefits.
