French expert aids PH in safe seas

THE French Maritime Expert (FME) and the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) conducted a crucial self-assessment training for roll-on, roll-off passenger (Ropax) ship and passenger fleet safety to enhance maritime safety standards in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Emeric Faure of FME provided detailed guidelines on conducting self-assessments for safety compliance on vessels. His presentation focused on essential aspects such as construction, stability and loading standards; machinery and electrical installations; fire protection and fire safety measures; life-saving appliances; navigation and radio communication systems; and the implementation of the International Safety Management Code.
