THE National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Museo ni Ramon Magsaysay (MRM) conducted an online lecture last May 17, 2024, titled 'Ugnayang Panlabas ng Pamahalaang Magsaysay.' Resource speaker was Ernestine Aurea Quijano, History Researcher 2 at the Research, Publications and Heraldry Division of NHCP.

Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay was inaugurated President of the Third Republic of the Philippines on Dec. 30, 1953, but his life as a public servant began in 1946 upon election as Representative of Zambales and reelection in 1949. In 1950, he was appointed as Defense Secretary by President Elpidio Quirino and was successful in quelling the Huk Rebellion along with the surrender of Huk leaders.
