'ONE' AGAINST CERVICAL CANCER

Eden Lucero, cervical cancer survivor; Dr. John Wong, chairman and president of Epimetric;, and Frances Ngo, of the University of the Philippines National Institute of Health (NIH) are among the attendees of the 1st Philippine Cervical Cancer Elimination Summit entitled 'One Community Against HPV' in Quezon City, on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The event was in celebration of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. The summit brought together healthcare experts, advocacy groups, policymakers, and private sector representatives who are committed toward a cervical cancer-free future for Filipino women. Cervical cancer remains a significant public health threat in the Philippines, claiming the lives of at least 12 women each day and ranking as the second most frequent cancer among women from 15 to 44 years old.
