Unconsolidated PUVs now illegal – LTFRB

TRAFFIC enforcers can start apprehending unconsolidated public utility vehicles (PUVs) plying their routes since the 15-day grace period to consolidate lapsed on May 15, the Department of Transportation (DoTr) said on Thursday.

'In the matter of apprehending unconsolidated PUVs who do not have to ply the streets because they no longer have a franchise, it is really an obligation; that is the job of certain agencies such as the LTO (Land Transportation Office), MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority), and PNP (Philippine National Police),' Transportation Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Andy Ortega said in a public briefing.
