MGen unit to build power units in Singapore

MERALCO PowerGen Corp. (MGen) said Wednesday that subsidiary PacificLight Power Pte. Ltd. (PLP) had been granted approval to build, own and operate power-generating units by Singapore's Energy Market Authority.

The units will provide 100 megawatts (MW) of 'Fast Start' generation capacity by the second quarter of 2025, MGen said in a statement, adding that these would reinforce Singapore's goal to ensure uninterrupted power.
