MANILA, Philippines — Amid the escalating tension in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), the Philippine Embassy in Beijing reported that it has not received any reports of Filipinos being harassed in China.

"Despite the challenging circumstances, we have not received any reports of Filipinos being harassed in China. Here at the Philippine Embassy, we occasionally receive hate emails from unnamed Chinese citizens. However, the Filipino community, true to their resilient spirit, remains unaffected. We stand strong and united," Minister and Consul General Arnel Talisayon said at a Commission on Appointments (CA) hearing when asked by Sen. Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa if there were reports of harassment against Filipinos in China amid the tensions in the WPS.
