THE Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) is intensifying efforts to ensure compliance with the mandatory use of low-sulfur fuel for all Philippine-registered ships.
Emmanuel Carpio, director of the Marine Environment Protection Development Service (MEPDS), reiterated the importance of complying with the new regulations, stressing their role in mitigating air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions for environmental sustainability and cleaner maritime operations.
