Terrafirma upsets top seed SMB, forces KO match

MANILA, Philippines — Eighth seed Terrafirma pulled off what many believed was improbable as the Dyip stunned top seed San Miguel Beer, 106-95 to force a rubber match in their PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The Dyip drew big games from the quartet of veteran shooter Juami Tiongson, top rookie pick Stephen Holt, big man Isaac Go and Javi Gomez de Liano to bring down the Beermen, who entered the opening round of the playoffs enjoying twice-to-beat advantage.
