THE National Food Authority's (NFA) rice distribution proposal could be detrimental to farmers and could cost the government P31 billion to P119 billion per year if implemented, the Federation of Free Farmers (FFF) said on Thursday.
"The intention to stabilize rice prices is good, especially for poor Filipinos. But the cost of doing this might become prohibitive," said FFF national manager Raul Montemayor.
