BuCor orders probe into strip search on wives of PDLs

MANILA, Philippines: Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. ordered an investigation into a complaint filed by the wives of political prisoners who were subjected to a strip search during a recent visit to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

Catapang, who is in Malaysia attending a summit, also expressed the willingness of the BuCor to be investigated to clarify the agency's position on matters about the visitation of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
