Japanese Ambassador Kazuya Endo has concluded a series of courtesy calls, engaging with key government officials to strengthen the bilateral ties between Japan and the Philippines. These visits focused on various aspects of collaboration, including peace and development, economic partnership, tourism, information and communications technology (ICT), security, and transportation.
On April 24, Ambassador Endo paid a courtesy call to Presidential Advisor on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity, Carlito Galvez Jr. One of the highlights of their discussion was the progress of the peace process in Mindanao. The ambassador emphasized Japan's commitment to supporting peace and development in the Bangsamoro region as it heads towards the 2025 Bangsamoro Parliament election. Likewise, Sec. Galvez warmly welcomed Ambassador Endo and expressed his appreciation for Japan's various support for the peace process spanning over two decades, as well as the prospects for further collaboration.
