26 Chinese aircraft spotted around Taiwan

(UPDATE) TAIPEI: Taiwan's defense ministry reported Friday that it had identified 26 Chinese aircraft and five naval vessels around the self-ruled island in the last 24 hours.

The sorties come weeks before the May 20 inauguration of new Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te, whom China considers a dangerous separatist.
