Davao Prison gets into aquaculture

THE Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) has ventured into aquaculture to generate additional income for the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and as a supplementary source of food supply for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. said chief inspector Edgardo Mendoza Jr., DPPF acting superintendent, oversaw the recent launching of the project with the release of 5,600 tilapia fry at a pond located behind the superintendent's quarter.
