MANILA, Philippines: The provinces of Cagayan and Pangasinan would likely experience the highest heat index for the day at 48 degrees Celsius, which is classified under the 'danger level' while other areas would have between 40 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius, the state-run weather agency said on Friday.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said warm and humid weather will continue to be experienced in most parts of the country.
