Palay output down 1.96% in Q1

PALAY (unmilled rice) production for the first quarter of 2024 went down by 1.96 percent compared to the same period last year, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed.

The latest PSA reports showed that palay output for the January to March period reached 4.68 million metric tons (MT), down by almost 2 percent from 4.77 million MT posted in the same period of 2023.
