MANILA, Philippines: A day after being blasted by water cannons from the China Coast Guard (CCG) vessels, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ships remain in the vicinity of Bajo de Masinloc (Scarborough Shoal).

As of Wednesday morning, BRP Bagacay and BRP Datu Bankaw were laid over about 39 nautical miles east of the shoal while they were closely shadowed by CCG-5303 at a distance of about 3.5 nautical miles based on the automatic identification system (AIS).
