131 cities, municipalities under state of calamity

A TOTAL of 131 cities and municipalities have been placed under a state of calamity because of El Niño.

Damage on agriculture has reached P4.39 billion, the government's Task Force El Niño said Tuesday. Task Force El Niño spokesman and Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Joey Villarama said that among the affected areas were the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Antique, Sultan Kudarat, Basilan, Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte and South Cotabato.
