THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (Ipophl), will investigate the proliferation of counterfeit drugs in the country following a United States report that identified the Philippines as a hub for fake medicines.
Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual said the sources of the counterfeit medicines was a particular problem. "It could be entering here from outside, not necessarily produced in the country. So, it needs to be investigated thoroughly," he said.
