IT took the propaganda media just over a day to try to classify the citizens' manifesto opposing a possible US-Philippine-Japanese war against China as a "pro-China and anti-US initiative," as though if we succeeded in avoiding war and promoting peace in its place, we would be helping strengthen China, while correspondingly weakening the United States.
I find the proposition absurd. Peace is the only alternative to war — peace for China and the US, the Indo-Pacific region, and the world. It would even be good for us, even if, in the process, we miss the opportunity to fight for the US and are forced to face our sovereign problems on our own.
