MANILA, Philippines: Manila announced on Friday that face-to-face classes for public schools in all levels for Saturday, April 27, would remain suspended because of the dangerous heat index of 44 C over the city.

Mayor Ma. Sheilah "Honey" Lacuna-Pangan said, however, that the decision to call off classes in private schools is left to the discretion of their respective administrations.
