VEHICLE sales slowed sharply in March compared to a month earlier, but automakers remain confident that consumer demand will lead to another record high this year.

A total of 37,474 units left showrooms last month, 1.6 percent higher than the year-earlier 36,880, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) said in a report on Monday.
