It happens every draft night. Teams at the bottom of the pecking order pray for a talented and popular college player to save their franchise. This happens in the PBA more than the NBA. Especially now since the PBA's popularity is at rock bottom, and the UAAP is soaring through unprecedented heights.

We have finally reached the point where the usual bottomfeeders of the league have finally won some games and gained some relevance. That would happen eventually, and it could have happened if not for the farm system.
