THE annual Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) conference and exhibition was held recently in Perth, Australia, from March 4 to 8. There were approximately 2,000 delegates from around the world who attended. Since it was founded 20 years ago, the APAIE has been considered the biggest networking for internationalization activities in education worldwide. This is where great opportunities for expanding knowledge and networks happen.
The world has truly become small. It is continuously being made compact by technology, and easy access to its different parts and corners has become widely available to all users. There is a need for many institutions of higher learning to be reshaped or reinvented to find a heightened purpose to contribute to world progress.
