MANILA, Philippines: A trough of a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is affecting Mindanao while two other weather systems - high pressure area (HPA) and easterlies – are bringing warm, humid weather in most parts of the country.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that while the extension of the LPA would bring scattered rains in some parts of Mindanao, this would not develop into a tropical cyclone.
