THE country's only Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz, failed to qualify for the Paris Olympics after she fell short of the top 10 in the qualifying competition in Phuket, Thailand.
Diaz would have claimed her fifth straight Olympic stint at the 2024 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Cup — but the night belonged to compatriot Elreen Ando, who stole the spotlight from the Queen of Philippine weightlifting.
