Storm unlikely until weekend—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines: With the ridge or extension of the high pressure area (HPA) prevailing in most parts of the country, any weather disturbance would unlikely form or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at least until over the weekend, the state-run weather agency said on Wednesday.

Weather forecaster Robert 'Obet' Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloud formations would not be visible with the presence of the HPA, the opposite of the low pressure area (LPA), which brings rains and thunderstorms.
