MANILA, Philippines: The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Wednesday cancelled its tsunami warnings following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan earlier in the day.

Phivolcs Director Teresito "Toto" Bacolcol recommended the immediate evacuation of residents living along the coastal areas at the Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte and Isabela.
