IN 2008, I wrote about Black Saturday and described this day as Bleak Saturday for many Filipinos. That was 16 years ago. Has the situation changed since then?
Black Saturday is the Sabbath day following Good Friday, or Holy Friday, commemorating the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. The use of black as the liturgical color helps explain the basis for this favored color. It is considered a sign of mourning.
