Filipinos in Haiti safe amid unrest

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday that Filipinos in Haiti were safe amid the ongoing security crisis in the Caribbean state.Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo has approved the declaration of Alert Level 3, prompting the voluntary repatriation of Filipinos in Haiti and the ban on worker deployment to the country.

Record said there are currently 169 Filipinos in Haiti, the majority of whom reside in Port-au-Prince.
