PH women underrepresented in seafaring, research reveals

FILIPINA mariners remain underrepresented in the seafaring sector, research conducted by the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) revealed.

Research conducted by NMP's Maritime Research and Development Division also showed that while Filipino women have made inroads in their maritime career, particularly in shipboard roles, their participation is primarily seen within the steward or catering department of ships.
