MANILA, Philippines: A vehicle belonging to Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. was ambushed by still unknown suspects Tuesday in Quezon City.
Initial reports said that at the time of the shooting, the Toyota Hilux with plate no. WDQ 811, which was being driven by security escort, CO1 Cornelio Colalong, accompanied by another security detail, CO1 Leonardo Cabaniero, was on its way to Quezon City to pick up lawyer Al Perreras, BuCor deputy director general, to whom Catapang had lent the vehicle. It was being escorted by an Innova driven by CSO2 Edwin Berroya and CO2 Michael Magsanoc.
