THE northeast monsoon or "amihan" which brings cooler temperatures is about to end and will be replaced by the warm and dry season, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.

Weather specialist Benison Estareja said the northeast monsoon is affecting areas in extreme Northern Luzon but it may still bring cold nights and mornings in Southern Luzon until it ends.
