New Gaza truce push as aid unloaded

PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES: Efforts toward a truce in the Israel-Hamas war continued on Saturday after the Palestinian militant group presented a new proposal that also called for more aid into famine-threatened Gaza as the first food shipment by sea was unloaded there.

Israel said it would send a delegation to Qatar for another round of talks on a possible deal. It also advanced plans for a military operation in the southernmost Gazan city of Rafah, where most of the territory's population has sought refuge from more than five months of war and deprivation.
