PH never used South China Sea issue to undermine peace – DFA

MANILA, Philippines: The Philippines has never used the South China Sea issue to heighten tensions, mislead the international community, or undermine peace and stability in the region, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Sunday.

'The Philippines urges China to reconsider its unfounded positions and claims,' the DFA said in a statement, referring to the remarks of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Wang Wenbin on Thursday.
