Scottie doubtful to play in PBA All-Star

PBA Season 46 Most Valuable Player Scottie Thompson admitted that given the severity of his back injury, he remains doubtful for the Annual PBA All-Star Games set on March 23-24 at the University of St. La Salle gymnasium in Bacolod City.

'Every day I'm present in practice, but I've been in this situation before in college with this issue, so I know how it feels if I force the issue and then see my injury only get worse,' Thompson explained in Filipino in an interview with 'One Sports.'
'I doubt in the All-Star if I can make it, but I'll try my best to be able to get back,' he added.
Thompson managed to play through a back problem during the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, helping Gilas Pilipinas to a pair of wins over Hong Kong and Taiwan.
He went on to average 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 9.0 assists in 20 minutes of action.
But last week, Ginebra coach Tim Cone bared that Thompson will be out indefinitely in the Philippine Cup as the do-it-all guard recovers from the back problem.
Though Ginebra managed to get off to a 2-0 start, Thompson's absence was largely felt last Friday as the Gin Kings turned the ball over 19 times and only had 11 assists en route to the 18-point loss to the Bolts.
